Annual celebration to be held Saturday, Sunday at Phelps Mill County Park

The Phelps Mill Festival will be held July 13-14 this year providing two full days of art, food, entertainment and kids’ activities plus craft wine and beer tasting.

The 40th annual Phelps Mill Festival will be held from July 13-14 at Phelps Mill County Park in rural Underwood. The event will feature two full days of art, food, entertainment and kids’ activities plus craft wine and beer tasting. 

For a second year the event will host a 5k/1K “Color Me” walk/run family friendly event on Sunday be there by 7:45 a.m. for same-day registration; turtle races on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., hosted by the Lakes Area Community Center. 

The festival features fine artists and crafters from around the country. Each exhibitor is handpicked by a panel of jurors to ensure quality and originality for the show. From paintings and prints to jewelry and apparel, to furniture and pottery, everyone will find something special to take home with them. 

Kids’ free art activities will be led by Battle Lake Bethel Lutheran Church plus they will be bringing their bouncy house and providing this free of charge.  

Come to the main stage on Saturday to enjoy the Circus Science Spectacular. This innovative and entertaining educational offering uses the magical world of circus to teach concepts like forces and motion, simple machines, matter, air power, chemical reactions and more. The performer will be appearing at 12 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. Also appearing on the main stage on Saturday, at both 1:15 and 4 p.m. will be the Gritt Band.

The festival will again be hosting craft beer and wine vendors from the area. This tasting event will run from 1-5 p.m. on Saturday. 

Sunday’s Community Service and music will be at 10:30 a.m. Performing at 12:45 p.m. on Sunday will be Darren Quam and friends, formerly known as Confusion. They’ll be rocking the stage with music from the 60’s, 70s and more.
