One of Otter Tail County’s smallest communities is now the home of an expansive auto body and mechanic shop.

Dillon Quick has opened Quick’s Auto Repair near the big foot statue in Vining. In a town of just 80 people it is rather hard to miss the large new building that sits just off of Highway 210. Quick has been discussing opening a mechanic and body shop for a number of years, but waited until the right opportunity presented itself before constructing the new business.

Quick’s Auto Repair recently completed its expansive shop building project and opened to the public. Currently the auto repair portion of the business is open, while the body shop will be opened in the near future. The business is located near the bigfoot statue in Vining.

“It’s been in the works for about four years. It just took a lot longer than we anticipated,” said Quick of the new business.

Originally from Parkers Prairie, Quick chose Vining due to its close proximity to the highway, his home just a few miles down the road and a desire to be part of the community of Vining. Of course, having a father who owns a NAPA parts store in less-than 10 miles away doesn’t hurt either.

“I thought it would be a good spot,” said Quick.

Quick and his brother (who will be operating the body shop in the near future) grew up in the shop fixing and working on vehicles. Quick is a 2012 graduate from Parkers Prairie High School and said he is planning to work on everything from oil changes to selling tires, alignments, brakes and everything in-between. He has three stalls for the mechanic work, meaning there is plenty of room to grow.

The body shop is still under construction, but is expected to open in the next few weeks. The Quicks will work on just about any make, model and size of a vehicle and offer a unique opportunity for someone to get their oil changed, as well as scratches and bumper fixed all in the same location.

Quicks’ Auto Repair is currently open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, but the hours and days may change in the future depending upon demand. While the body shop will be opening in the near future, Quick is taking appointments on the mechanic side of the shop for everything from oil changes to tires and everything in-between.

To make an appointment, or for more information, contact Quick’s Auto Repair at (218) 769-4544.

The shop is located right off of Highway 210, near the big foot statue, in Vining.
