Vining’s Leif Erickson Sons of Norway Lodge is again inviting area residents to join a Nordic tradition honoring Midsummer. The festivities will begin at 3:30 p.m. with the dressing of the Midsummer Pole decorated with flowers and vines on the east side of the Vining Community Center. There is no charge to attend the event

The parade led by flag bearers from each Nordic Country will add to the experience.

A Norwegian Dance group from Brookings South Dakota will be the featured entertainment.

Games, Music will add to the fun of the Midsummer pole and music.

The activities are capped off with the annual midsummer potluck at 5:30 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to bring your favorite Nordic food or treats to  the potluck.
