Nick Lindberg struck out 11 hitters during last week’s game against Clarissa.

The Henning North Stars dropped their sixth straight game over the weekend as they fell to Clarissa and Perham. On Saturday night the North Stars lost to the Clarissa Flyers by a score of 8-6 and fell to 2-6 on the season on Sunday in a 3-0 loss to the Pirates.

This week the North Stars will travel to Dent on Friday night, before heading to Urbank on Saturday night to take on the Urbank Bombers. 

Saturday

In a game featuring 28 hits and 14 combined runs, the Henning North Stars fell to the Clarissa Flyers by a score of 8-6 on Saturday.

The big difference in the game came in the bottom of the fourth inning when Clarissa scored five runs, which came on the heels of a two run bottom of the third inning.

Henning took an early 2-0 lead thanks to a Jake Trosdahl sacrifice fly and RBI double by Dan Marso in the top of the second inning that brought a pair of runs across the plate. After Clarissa stranded the bases loaded in the bottom of the second inning, the North Stars made the score 3-0 in the top of the third inning when Nick Lindberg hit a solo home run with two outs. 

Clarissa added a two-run home run of the their in the bottom of the third inning, before Nick Trosdahl hit an RBI single to make the game 4-2 in favor of Henning. The North Stars would later load up the bases, but were unable to get another runner across the plate. 

After Clarissa scored seven runs in two innings, the North Stars made a game of it late when Jayden Harig hit a two-run single with two outs in the top of the seventh inning to make the score 7-6 in favor of the Flyers, before Clarissa added an insurance run in the bottom of the seventh inning to come away with the 8-6 win.

Harig led the team offensively with three hits and a pair of RBIs, while Stephen Lindberg look the loss on the mound after he went four innings and gave up 12 hits and seven earned runs. Nick Lindberg gave up just one run and struck out 11 hitters of the remaining four innings of the game.

Sunday

On Sunday the Henning North Stars fell to 2-6 on the season with a 3-0 loss to the Perham Pirates. All of the scoring took place in the top of the third inning when Perham hit an RBI single and a two-run single on the very next hitter to take a 3-0 lead. 

The North Stars has runners in scoring position in the third inning, but were unable to get them across the plate.
