OTC ends season with record of 17-6 overall

The Otter Tail Central Bulldogs season ended in a pitchers duel to Roseau in the section tournament last week.

Both teams were strong on the hill on Monday, but the Roseau Rams was just a little bit stronger at the plate in their 2-0 victory over OOTC. Lane Dilly started the game for the Bulldogs and recorded 21 outs.

The Bulldogs lost despite out-hitting Roseau 5-4. Kale Misegades, Soren Floden, Owen Harig, Gavin Pausch and Ayden Olson each collected one hit for OTC.

The Rams were the first to get on the board in the first inning when Dilly induced Cody Otto to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.

Trey Mertens earned the win for Roseau as he allowed five hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out seven and walking one. 

Dilly took the loss for OTC as he went seven innings, surrendering two runs (one earned) on four hits, striking out six and walking four.

“I would like to thank our communities. We have a ton of support for our players and coaches, I appreciate everyone involved. I give a ton of credit to our senior players,” said head coach Ryan Hendrickson. “They are always welcome back to our team in any way possible. We have a great group of Senior leaders that always gave it their all. Thank you all for your positive messages, your time and effort and your support to the players.” 

The loss ends the Bulldogs season with a record of 17-6 overall.
