Peter Newark took fourth place in the 1600-meter run during last week’s conference meet in Pillager.

The Otter Tail Central Bulldogs track teams delivered impressive performances in the Park Region Conference meet. There were nine conference championship performances,  which led to a second place finish for the boys and first place finish for the girls. 

Men’s highlights

Aidan Heggem in the 400 meters, captured third place with a PR of 56.27 seconds. 

Peter Newark finished in fourth place in the 1600-meters with a SR of 4:55.58 and second in the 3200-meters with a time of 10:42.10. Phoenix Allison also had a strong showing in the 3200-meters, placing fifth with a time of 12:04.30.

Max Mekalson and Jonas Hagemesiter excelled in the 110-meter hurdles, placing second and fourth with PRs of 18.60 and 19.06 seconds, respectively. Hagemesiter continued his success in the 300-meter hurdles, winning the event with a PR of 43.21 seconds; he has yet to lose a race this year in the 300-meter hurdles.

The field events saw remarkable achievements, particularly in the shot put and long jump. Kale Rich dominated the shot put with a PR throw of 42’11 1/2”, while William Schwartz followed closely in second place with a PR of 41’4”. Rich also placed fourth in discus with a throw of 106’5”.

In the long jump, Mason Dalluge took first place with an impressive leap of 21’1 3/4”, which is a top 10 jump in class A this year, he also won the triple jump with a distance of 42’11 3/4”, and took second place in the high jump clearing 5’10”. 

The Bulldogs took three of the top four spots in the pole vault with Jonas taking the title clearing 11’0”, which ties the school record, Gabe Lindstorm and Quinn Condiff took 3rd and 4th both clearing 10’6”.

Women’s highlights

Annabelle Evavold led the team in the 100-meters, placing third with a time of 13.94 seconds. Kinley Bormann was a standout in the 200-meters, finishing second with a time of 27.96 seconds. Bormann also took second in the 400-meters with a PR of 1:02.89.

In the 800-meters, Kallyn Grove secured fourth place with a season record of 2:38.64. Norah Froslee was exceptional in the longer distances, finishing second in both the 1600-meters (5:24.63) and the 3200-meters (12:11.05).

Myiesha Antoni excelled in the high jump, winning with a height of 5’2”. 

Kinley Bormann triumphed in the long jump with a PR of 17’2 3/4”, which is the seventh best jump in Class A, and also captured first place in the triple jump with a PR of 35’8 1/4”, which is eighth best jump in Class A. 

Kayetana Lopez-Moen won the pole vault clearing 7’6”.
