Stephen Springer has been recommended to fill an open position on the Henning EDA. He was recommended to join the seven person board during a regularly scheduled Henning EDA meeting last week.

The position came available after Henning EDA member Holly Weller resigned from the board. Henning EDA Chair Andy Eckhoff said Weller recommended Springer, who co-owns The Farmstand, for the position.

“She did mention that Stephen Springer would be the replacement she would like to see. I don’t see any problem with that. It’s a young business owner in town…so I feel it is the type of person that would be good,” said Eckhoff.

The EDA board members discussed several other people in the community who could join the board of directors in the future. Henning EDA members in attendance questioned if they should look into increasing the board size to get a greater cross section of the business community involved in the organization.
