Local youth participate in Parkers Prairie Just for Kix

The Just For Kix – Parkers Prairie Area Program recently made its way to Alexandria with seven teams. The teams performed well in their heats, crushing some team goals today on their first competition of the season.
Results from the competition include:
• Mini Kix (Tuesday 7:15 p.m.) received Gold scoring, did not place. This team is small, but they are improving each week and are ready for challenges. There is 1 fifth grader and 3 fourth graders in this class, from Zion Lutheran and Parkers Prairie schools.
• Wee Kix (Tuesday 5:30 p.m.) received Gold scoring, did not place. This team is made up of 1 first grader, 3 second graders, 2 third grader and 1 fourth grader; from Brandon-Evansville, Henning, Hillcrest and Parkers Prairie schools. Over half the class this was their first ever competition. This will be their only competition this season.
• Mini Jazz / Lyrical (Tues 6:30) received High Gold scoring, received 3rd place. This team is made up of one 1st, one 3rd & one 5th graders; from Henning, Hillcrest & Zion Lutheran schools. Excited to see their improvement at their next competition.
• Mini Hip Hop (Monday 7:15 p.m.) received High Gold scoring, did not place. This team is made up of 2 second graders, 1 third grader, 3 fourth graders and 2 fifth graders; from Bertha-Hewitt, Parkers Prairie and Zion Lutheran schools.
• Jr Hip Hop (Sunday 6 p.m.) received High Hold scoring, first place in their Heat. This team was made up of 3 fifth graders and 1 ninth grader from Parkers Prairie school. A second ninth grader from Battle lake missed the competition due to a concussion. The judges loved their energy today, smallest team from a number of members in their heat today.
• Jr Kix (Sunday 5 p.m.) received High Hold scoring, placed first in their Heat. This team was made up of 2 sixth graders, 2 seventh graders, 1 eighth grader and 3 ninth graders from Henning and Parkers Prairie schools. Another ninth grader from Battle Lake missed the competition due to a concussion. The judges loved their energy today.
• Jr Jazz / Lyrical (Sunday 4 p.m.) received High Hold scoring and placed second in their Heat. This team was made up of 2 sixth graders, 2 seventh graders, 1 eighth grader and 3 ninth graders from Henning and Parkers Prairie schools. The judges loved their facials in the competition.
