Otter Tail County Lt. Jim Stewart retired Thursday, Feb. 29 after a quarter-century of service to the county and 32 years in law enforcement.

With over 32 years in law enforcement and 25 years of service to Otter Tail County, Lt. Jim Stewart will be retiring Feb 29, 2024. 

In his time with the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office, Lt. Stewart has held positions of Patrol Deputy, Drug Task Force Agent, Patrol Sergeant, Detective Sergeant, Jail Administrator, and currently holds the position of Patrol Lieutenant. 

Lt. Stewart was also a member of the Otter Tail County SWAT Team for 5 years, and the Sniper Team Leader for two years. Lt. Stewart was also a firearms instructor and involved with DWI Court.
