The Henning girls basketball team had their final three regular season games last week.

The Hornets went 2-1 in those games to finish the regular season with a record of 11-14.  They will head into the playoffs as the eighth seed in a very tough Section 6A North Subsection and will host Lake Park-Audubon in the pigtail game on Monday, Feb. 26.

Tuesday, Feb. 20 at Underwood 65-28 lost

On Tuesday night the girls traveled to Underwood to take on the state ranked Rockets. Underwood is a very tough team on both ends of the court and Henning knew they would have their hands full in this one.  The girls competed hard, but shot a very poor 18 percent from the floor on the night and lost by the final score of 65-28.

Individually the Hornets were led offensively by Alivia Gunderson with 10 points. Ella Missling 8 points, Lyvia Misegades 7 points and Lila Thorson 3 points rounded out the scoring. Misegades led the team with 7 rebounds, Thorson led with 4 assists and Gunderson led with 2 steals.

Again this was a game against a very tough opponent who was in the state tournament last season and has a very solid chance of returning and the girls competed, but just couldn’t get a shot to fall.
