The Henning ECFE program recently held its kickoff to I Love to Read Month in the school library. Children ages birth through first grade and their families were invited to attend. The book theme this year was “If You Give a Pig a Pancake” by Laura Numeroff. Children listened to the story with our feature guest, Pig. They also made a puppet so they could retell their story at home. The kids really enjoyed making their own “pancake in a bag” and eating their pancake with the toppings they selected. Before they left they were able to take home their own copy of the book thanks to a donation made by Otter Tail County Early Childhood Initiative. ECFE (Early Childhood Family Education) classes are typically held on Mondays from 8:30-10 a.m. or 5:30-7 p.m. Children ages birth-prekindergarten and their families are welcome to attend. The Henning ECFE has special events that take place throughout the year. Contact Andria Weller with questions or to sign up at aweller@henning.k12.mn.us.
