Patty Roth

Lake Region Healthcare (LRH) has announced Patty Roth as the new Chief Nursing Officer, filling the role vacated by Roberta Young, MSN, RN, whose contract ended on December 31, 2023.

Roth most recently served as the Senior Director of Patient Care and Chief Nursing Officer at CentraCare Health in Sauk Centre, Minn. She grew up on a dairy farm in Pierz, Minn. and her path to healthcare leadership started after she received her Bachelor of Art in Secondary Education from St. Cloud State University.  She went from there to obtain her BSN at University of North Dakota’s School of Nursing and worked as a staff nurse at Dakota Hospital in Fargo, Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood and St. Cloud Hospital.

While working in Fargo, Roth joined the United States Navy. She started her military career as an Ensign (O-1) and is still serving today.  Currently a Captain (O-6), she holds the role of the Chief Nursing Officer for Expeditionary Medical Unit, Jacksonville Florida where she oversees 110 Nurse Corps Officers across the country.  She mobilized twice during her career. Once to Landstuhl Germany in 2006 and Kandahar Afghanistan in 2013.

Upon returning from mobilization in 2014, she left St Cloud Hospital to work at CentraCare Sauk Centre as the Director of Patient Care Services.  She was promoted to Senior Director of Acute Care at Sauk Centre in 2022 where she assumed the overall responsibility for the entire campus.

“We are really grateful for the great work Roberta did here during her tenure, and also feel very fortunate to have found Patty to be the next nurse leader and one of our senior operations leaders across our entire healthcare enterprise. She brings great energy and experience to this role and we are delighted she has chosen to share her talent for leading excellent inpatient care teams to LRH,” said Kent Mattson, CEO.
