Monica Hansen scored 2 points in Henning’s 69-30 loss to Perham on Tuesday night.

The varsity girls basketball team got the 2023-24 season off to a start this past week with three games.

After graduating eight seniors off of last year’s team it’s a new look with many players experiencing their first extensive varsity experience.  The team went 1-2 on the week.

This coming week the girls have two tough conference games.  Tuesday night Henning will travel to Menahga for a battle, before returning home on Friday to host Pillager.

Tuesday, Nov, 28 at Perham 69-30 lost

On Tuesday Henning traveled to Perham to take on the Class AA sixth ranked Perham Yellowjackets. They have a really solid team and the Hornets knew they would have their hands full.

Again with those losses to graduation along with a senior currently out with injury Henning had nine different girls play in their first varsity game and it certainly was a learning experience with the speed and physicalness of it, but ultimately will be a learning experience that will help them in the future.
