Have you ever wondered what it would be like to attend school with the children of some of Disney’s most famous villains? Well, if your answer is yes, the Henning High School music department has just the ticket as they will present a glimpse into the life of a descendant of a villain this weekend.

The Henning music department will present a new musical entitled “Descendants” this weekend in the school gym.

The Descendants follows the children of some of the bad people from Disney movies. The main cast include the daughters of the witches from Snow White and Sleeping Beauty, Jafar (from Aladdin)’s son and Cruella de Vil’s son.  They need to transfer to the “good” school and interact with the children from some of the good guys from Disney movies.

The main characters of this year’s musical will be played by Isabelle Godding, Breanna Bunkowski, Elliot Severson and Demitri Beattie. Other main parts will be played by Cade Strege and Emma Fosse.

While the Henning School musical typically features renowned classics like Grease, Fiddler on the Roof and Oklahoma, this year’s musical will take on a bit of a twist as it is a relatively new production.

“This musical is unique because many people have never heard of it before. This year we are trying a new musical so it will be a complete surprise for many audience members,” said music teacher Ben Johnson. “Rest assured, this is a Disney musical, with a story and songs that could rival any musical we have done in the past. There are many up tempo fun songs, and a couple duets that just might steal the show.”

There will be three performances of Descendants including a 7 p.m. show on Friday and Saturday night, as well as a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $5 apiece, or attend all three shows for just $10.
