A pair of Otter Tail Central sophomores competed with the best runners in the state last week at the state cross country meet. The state meet was held at Les Bolstad Golf Course in Falcon Heights. On a wet day on the course, the pair of Bulldogs were able to finish near the top of the leader board on Saturday. 

Norah Froslee competed in her second straight state cross country meet and finished in 48th place with a time of 20:20. She was able to finish just in front of Mya Pesek of Canby who took 49th place with a time of 20:20.1. 

The meet was won by Olivia Pauly of Saint John’s Preparatory School with a time of 18:20.5. A total of 158 people competed in the girls state cross country meet. 

On the boys side, sophomore Peter Newark finished in a tie for 49th place with a time of 17:06.1. Newark crossed the finish line at the same exact time as Zach Klassen of Mountain Lake Area High School. Eddie Snider of Mounds Park Academy finished in first place with a time of 15:40.

A total of 160 people competed in the race individually and Bertha-Hewitt was the top local team as they finished in third place overall, just 15 points out of first place.
