Froslee, Newark advance to state cross country

A pair of Otter Tail Central cross country team members have advanced to the state cross country meet. Sophomores Norah Froslee and Peter Newark both finished inside the top 10 individually and qualified for the state meet, which will be held on Saturday at the University of Minnesota Les Bolstad Golf Course.
Froslee, who is a sophomore at Henning High School, qualified for her second straight cross country state meet after taking sixth place individually with a time of 20:13.91. Last season Froslee took 45th place overall at the state meet as a freshman.
Delia Tebrugge posted a season best time of 23:20.19 to finish in 52nd place in the meet, while Laney Frost finished in 61st place with a time of 23:40.87. Tegan Brandon posted a season best time of 24:13.29 to finish in 71st place, Quinn Hagemeister posted a season best time of 24:16.64 to finish in 74th place, while Emily Christensen finished in 87th place with a time of 25:35.26 and Mae Hegemeister finished in 95th place with a time of 26:22.07.
As a team the Bulldogs finished with 237 points to finish in ninth place overall. Staples-Motley won the meet with 39 points, while Wadena-Deer Creek took second place with a score of 84 points.
Newark led the way for the Bulldogs as the sophomore finished in ninth place with a time of 17:18.57 to qualify for the state cross country meet.
Aidan Heggem finished in 29th place with a time of 18:41.08, Talyn Setterholm finished in 33rd place with a time of 19:01.42, Jonas Hagemeister finished in 41st place with a time of 19:15.06, Nath Russ finished in 63rd place with a time of 20:10.89, Phoneix Allison finished in 64th place with a time of 20:15.18 and Jack Jossart finished in 76th place with a time of 20:55.65.
As a tean the Bulldogs finished in sixth palce overall, just one point behind Wadena-Deer Creek in the standings. The Bulldogs finished with 172 points. Bertha-Hewitt won the meet with 48 points, while Staples-Motley took second place with a team score of 71 points.
