The Henning Hornet volleyball picked up their 14 overall win on Thursday and improved to 3-3 in the Park Region Conference with a 3-0 win over Pillager.

Alissa Winters sends a spike past a Pillager blocker during last week’s Park Region Conference game in Pillager.

The Hornets played well as a team. They spread the ball around offensively, served aggressive and serve received probably the best they have all season.

The Hornets had 46 kills, hitting at a season high .321, they served 98 percent with 9 aces, and our serve receive was 90 percent to target. When the team passes like that they are able to do a lot of good things.

Lila Thorson dives for a ball during last week’s game against the Huskies.

The Hornets were led by Lyvia Misegades who had 18 kills, 18 set assists, and 3 blocks. Myeisha Antoni had a career high 10 kills, hitting at .667. Ella Missling had 6 kills, 2 ace serves and led the team with 16 digs. Cambrie Johnson led the team with 19 set assists and also had 2 ace serves. Also playing and contributing to the win was Alivia Gunderson, Alissa Winters, Emmalyn Bergstrom, Lillian Moench, Lila Thorson and Bella Olson.

The Hornets, who are 14-9 overall this season, wrap up their regular season with two home games this week. On Monday they host Parkers Prairie and on Tuesday they host New York Mills in Henning’s regular season finale.

The sub section playoffs will kick off next week.
