Driver injured in accident near Ottertail

A Parkers Prairie resident died Aug. 26 after being attacked by a bull at a farm property. Law enforcement, after receiving a 911 call reporting an adult was being attacked by a bull, arrived on the scene and euthanized the bull in order to aid the victim.

The victim, later pronounced deceased, was identified as 64-year-old Jerry Altman. Sheriff deputies said the incident, which took place close to 6:15 p.m. in Effington Township, was under investigation by the county sheriff department.

Firearm stolen

A resident who lives near Highway 59 in western Otter Tail County, on Aug. 28, reported the theft of a Smith and Wessen .22 long rifle double action firearm. Other firearms and cash in the general area were not disturbed.

Driver injured near Ottertail

A Battle Lake woman, 49-year-old Leslie Christine Anderson, was injured Aug. 24 in a roadway accident near the town of Ottertail. The incident took place at 11:21 a.m.

Sheriff deputies said her vehicle left the roadway, hit a sign and building, and then crossed the road and hit a tree. Anderson, the lone occupant in the vehicle, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital in Perham.

Responding to the scene of the accident, in addition to sheriff deputies, were Ottertail Rescue and Perham EMS. The location of the accident was along Highway 1 west of the town of Ottertail.
