Motorcycle driver, passenger injured Aug. 14

Sheriff deputies, on Aug. 14, reported that a motorcycle driver and a passenger sustained serious injuries after striking a deer. The accident took place close to 12:30 p.m. near the intersection of Highways 32 and 74, east of the town of Maine in central Otter Tail County.
Both were wearing helmets at the time of the accident. They were flown from the scene by Life Link to Sanford Hospital in Fargo.
Gift card scam warning
Sheriff deputies remind county residents that only scammers will tell you to buy a gift card, like a Google Play or Apple Card, and give them the numbers off the back of the card.
No matter what they say, that’s a scam.
Law enforcement personnel all across the nation emphasize that no real business or government agency will ever tell you to buy a gift card to pay them. Always keep a copy of your gift card and store receipt.
