Bulldogs fall to Parkers Prairie in regular season finale

Otter Tail Central 15U watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 12-3 loss to Parkers Prairie on Monday. Parkers Prairie scored on a single by Rounds and a groundout by Radtke in the first inning.

OTC struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Parkers Prairie, giving up 12 runs.

Parkers Prairie fired up the offense in the first inning. Rounds drove in one when Rounds singled.

Parkers Prairie scored three runs in the sixth inning. Grabow, Hoffman, and Habbling each had RBIs in the big inning.

Brady Saurer took the loss for OTC as he lasted 2 2/3 innings, allowing six hits and five runs while striking out one.

Sam Ravenscraft, Kaden Schmieg, Charlie Bertrand, and Austin Sem all had one hit to lead OTC.

Thursday

A walk-off walk led OTC past Border West 15-14 on Thursday. The game was tied at 14-14 with OTC batting in the bottom of the seventh when Austin Sem drew a walk, scoring one run.

A seven-run lead in the fifth inning was just enough for OTC to hold off Border West for the victory. Border West scored eight runs in the failed comeback in the seventh inning

OTC got on the board in the first inning. Kaden Schmieg singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

Sam Ravenscraft was the winning pitcher for OTC as he allowed one hit and zero runs walking zero. Brady Saurer threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Baker, Schmieg, Landon Harig, Grady Shebeck, and Grahm Huschka each collected one hit to lead OTC. OTC stole nine bases during the game as three players stole more than one. Saurer led the way with three.

In their second game of the day, OTC watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 14-3 loss to Alexandria Red on Thursday.

Kaden Schmieg took the loss for OTC as he went four innings, allowing 14 runs on 11 hits and striking out two.

OTC totaled eight hits. Grady Shebeck and Landon Harig all had multiple hits for OTC. Harig and Shebeck each collected two hits to lead OTC.

Friday

OTC’s bats were strong against Alexandria Black on Friday, but it wasn’t enough as OTC fell 7-6. 

“I couldn’t be more proud of this team for how we finished the season.  I saw a ton of improvement throughout the season but most definitely grew the most at the end of the season,” said coach Ryan Hendrickson. “We started the playoffs by beating Border West, then lost to the #1 seed and then were able to compete and put ourselves in a spot to move on vs the other Alex team too.”

Alexandria Black opened up an early lead in the first inning when Chandler grounded out, scoring one run.

After OTC scored one run in the top of the second, Alexandria Black answered with one of their own. OTC scored when Brady Saurer singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Alexandria Black took the lead for good with one run in the third inning. In the third Chandler singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

Sam Ravenscraft took the loss for OTC as he surrendered six runs on six hits over three innings, striking out one.

Saurer, Charlie Bertrand, Austin Sem, Landon Harig, and Ravenscraft each managed one hit to lead OTC.
