The Henning 10u and 12u softball seasons have come to an end at the end of season league tournaments. This is the third year that a summer softball program has been offered for Henning students. The Hornets were able to have weekly games against teams from New York Mills, Wadena-Deer Creek, Park Rapids, Nevis, Staples-Motley and several other neighboring communities. 

Henning 12u Orange team members included: Front row: Klare Thalmann, Rylee Weller, Ivy Witt, Brittany Kline and Chloe Hagen. Back row: Coach Mike Weller, Jolene Fosse, Emily Hanson, Clara Peterson, Kendall Koenen, Ava Rousu and Makaya Oehrlein.

This year nearly 40 Henning area youth participated in the growing summer softball program. All of the youth participated free of charge due to a private donation that paid for everything from jerseys, to umpires, equipment and league fees. 

Due to high participation numbers the program fielded two 12u teams and one 10u team.

The Henning 10u team played games on Monday nights, while the 12u teams played games on Tuesday nights.

The Henning 10u team finished their regular season with a record of 5-4-1 and received the fourth seed in the end of year tournament. There were 10 teams in the league this season.  

Henning Black team members include: Front row: Hailey Fiskum, Harper Umland, Addy Bergstrom, Shadley Bunkowski and Savannah Springer. Henning fell to a tough New York Mills White team in the opening round of the tournament by a score of 6-1, before falling to Nevis in the consolation bracket by a score of 7-1.  

The Henning Orange 12u team was finished their regular season with a record of 4-5 with almost all of their losses coming by just 1 run. The team fell to Staples-Motley by a score of 9-7 in the opening round of the end of season tournament in Park Rapids. 

The Henning Black team finished their regular season with a record of 3-7 and continued to improve throughout the season. They lost their opening round game of the end of season tournament to a good New York Mills Blue team by a score of 5-0. 

There were 12 teams in the 12u league this season.
