Pastors Nathan Hanson, Bruce Pederson, Roger Hanson, Rachel and Andy Tune, Richard Kennedy and Mark Erickson were all present to help celebrate the 150th anniversary of Leaf Mountain Lutheran Church.

Leaf Mountain Lutheran Church celebrated 150 years of ministry in the lakes country of Minnesota between refreshing rain showers on Saturday, June 24.

Worship convened at 4 p.m., with several former pastors participating in the service with current pastor Nathan Hanson, and others who were unable to attend bringing written greetings.

Pastors Bruce Pederson, Roger Hanson, Rachel and Andy Tune, Richard Kennedy and Mark Erickson were present for the worship service and stayed for a meal of pulled pork and fixings.

Carl Andersen and Harald and Andrea Bringsjord sent letters that were read during the service itself. “Built on the Rock” was the theme of the day, with several members and guests in attendance. The congregation of Leaf Mountain was delighted to serve this assembly of dear friends and fellow believers.

Providence and promise have long been delivered over the decades, from this sturdy country church surrounded by woods and fields of rural Clitherall, to people who hail now from all parts of the country.  The church was established in Leaf Mountain in 1873 and continues today.
