Otter Tail Central 15U Black won big over Alexandria Black 14-1 on Monday.

OTC fired up the offense in the first inning, when Kale Misegades singled on a 1-0 count, scoring 2 runs. Ayden Olson added a big two out RBI triple in bottom of the third inning.

OTC put up 7 runs in the fourth inning. Rowan Finseth, JR Faaaliga, Colton Shjerve, Kaleb Hammes, and Misegades powered the big inning with RBIs.

Hammes pitched OTC to victory as he surrendered 1 run on 3 hits over 5 innings, striking out 6.

OTC tallied 7 hits on the day with Max Mekalson and Misegades each collecting a pair of hits to lead the way. 

“It was great to see us bounce back after a tough battle against Alexandria Red last week,” said coach Evan Meece. Kaleb threw strikes and kept hitters off balance.  Our defense was solid and we ran the bases really well.”

Thursday

OTC defeated Border West 15-0 on Thursday as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Olin Link induced a fly out to finish off the game.

OTC got things moving in the first inning when they scored 1 run on a Kaleb Hammes single.

They would later score 6 runs in the second inning. The big inning was thanks to by Rowan Finseth, Dawson Bushman, and Colton Shjerve and walks by Kale Misegades and Link.

Misegades picked up the win on the mound as allowed 1 hit and no runs over 3 innings, striking out five and walking one. Link and Ryan Despard entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

OTC saw the ball well today, racking up 10 hits in the game. Quenton Beske and Despard each had multiple hits for OTC 15U Black. Beske led the way with 3 hits in 4 at bats. 

“This was a great game overall for the team. We played very well defensively, threw strikes, and executed at the plate,” said coach Evan Meece.
