Fire destroys 4-wheeler, grill near Perham

Weekend traffic accidents in Otter Tail County over the weekend of June 2 resulted in injuries.

An accident at 4:22 a.m. on June 2 took place near the intersection of Highway 38 and 110th Street in southeastern Otter Tail County. The accident, with injury to a driver, involved a collision of a vehicle with a deer. The victim was transported to an area hospital.

Another deer accident, this time involving a motorcycle, took place at 12:25 p.m. on June 3 near the intersection of Highway 67 and 520th Avenue, south of New York Mills. The cycle driver sustained serious injuries and was taken to the hospital in Perham.

A third accident with injuries took place at 12:34 p.m. near at Golf Course Road near Stalker Lake, northeast of Dalton. This was a motorcycle driver with a group of cyclists when he was injured. The victim was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.

Fire destroys 4-wheeler, grill

Sheriff deputies, on June 4, reported that a fire destroyed a 4-wheeler and grill northeast of Big Pine Lake near Perham. The incident was reported at 5:58 p.m.

A grill caught fire on a deck and the owner attempted to push it away from the home with his 4-wheeler. Both the grill and 4-wheeler were destroyed by fire. The residence and deck were damaged and the owner sustained minor injuries and burns.

The total loss was estimated at close to $10,000.
