Tuesday

OTC dropped a doubleheader to Menahga on Tuesday night by scores of 11-0 and 21-9.

In the first game of the night, the Bulldogs were only able to get 1 hit, a Brooklyn Christian single, while the Braves were able to make the most out of 9 hits and 7 walks in the game on their way to an 11-0 win.

In the second game of the night, the OTC bats came alive a bit as they picked up 8 hits, including three doubles by Liz Lukken as they fell by a score of 21-9. The Bulldogs actually led 6-4 at the end of the first inning, with one of the highlights of the inning being a Delia Grabe fielder’s choice that brought two runs across the plate.

Unfortunately, the Braves scored 5 runs in the second inning, 2 in the third, 5 in the fourth, a single run in the fifth and a 4 run sixth inning to end the game by the 10-tun rule. Despite the 21 runs, OTC pitchers only gave up 11 hits in the game.

Thursday

Parkers Prairie swept a doubleheader with OTC on Thursday night by scores of 17-8 and 20-2.

In the opening game of the night, the Panthers were able to score 10 runs in the bottom of the first inning and never looked back as they scored 2 runs in the second, third and fourth innings and a single run in the fifth inning to come away with the win.

Despite the loss, the Bulldogs outhit the Panthers 11-10, but 6 errors and 10 walks proved to be too much to overcome.

Christianson and Cameron led the way offensively with 3 hits apiece. Christianson finished with a pair of doubles and 2 RBIs.

In the second game of the night, 6 OTC errors and a few timely hits by the Panthers proved to be too much to overcome for the Bulldogs as they fell by a score of 20-2. The Bulldogs were outhit just 11-7 in the game.

The Panthers jumped out to a 12-0 lead after the top of the second inning, and posted 8 more runs in the top of the fourth inning.

Breanna Bunkowski and Delia Grabe each finished with a hit and an RBI in the loss.

Friday

OTC scored at least 1 run in every inning except for one as they picked up their first win of the season on Friday night against Pelican Rapids.

Brooklyn Christianson had a big game at the plate as she went 4-5 with 3 runs scored, while Sophie Akerman hit a 2-run triple to bring the first 2 runs of the game across the plate.

Kenady Cameron picked up the win on the mound as she gave up 4 runs, 8 hits and struck out 4 hitters in 6 1/3 innings.

Head coach Heather Akerman said the game was a much needed win for the Bulldogs as they get ready for another busy week with a game against Sebeka on Monday, a doubleheader against Wadena-Deer Creek on Tuesday and a game against Barnesville on Friday.
