Grant to assist with Remote Electronic Alcohol Monitoring

County Commissioners have been informed that Otter Tail County has been awarded $16,000 per fiscal year for the Remote Electronic Alcohol Monitoring (REAM) grant program. The total grant amount for the biennium is $32,000.

“The mission of our Probation Department is to enhance public safety and victim reparation by guiding positive behavior change,” says Probation Director Michael Schommer. “We do this through innovative services, community support and effective community supervision.”

The vision of the department is to create a safer Otter Tail County by being a leader in community supervision.

“We strive to provide steadfast professional and ethical behavior through a commitment to staff development and teamwork while being unified leaders in our communities,” Schommer said. “Our staff members use technology and effective intervention strategies.”

In addition, the County Probation Department provides self-disciplined services, solid fiscal management, transparent communication and resources to best serve Otter Tail County.

“We provide for community safety and the well-being of all staff through the determined use of reason, courage to face danger and to persevere through adversity,” Schommer added.
