Space is still available for two workshops at the Landmark Center.

Mike Weatherly will host a two-day Linocut Printmaking workshop on Saturday, April 15 and 22, from 1-4 p.m. Participants will use carving tools on soft linoleum sheets to create and design individual works of art. Day one will be used for basic carving, Day two will include applying ink and transferring design from linoleum to a paper print. No prior experience is necessary. All materials will be provided.

One week later, Friday and Saturday April 28-29 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., artist Clayton Johnson will host a two-day wood relief face carving workshop using a variety of wood carving tools, step by step, to carve a 3D face profile into an 11×14” basswood blank,1” thick.

Johnson will walk through the steps of transferring face design to the wood, and the various cuts and tools used to create the details of the face. Again, all tools and materials are provided, and no prior carving experience is necessary.
