Students in Kala Mills’ and Christina Wohlwend’s third grade classes at Henning School completed their chicken egg project last week. Over the past three weeks, students watched as over 20 chicken eggs were kept warm and eventually hatched in the classroom. With the help of the Extension office, the students learned about eggs, chickens and watched as the baby chicks hatched from eggs. At the end of the project, students who were interested were able to bring a baby chick home to raise.  Last week one student was even able to attempt to walk on egg shells (left).
