The longtime home to the Henning Advocate was burned down as part of a controlled burn by the Henning Fire Department on Saturday morning. The Douglas Ave. building was the home to the Henning Advocate until 2003 when the newspaper was merged with another newspaper in Henning to form the Citizen’s Advocate. More recently the building was utilized as a residence, but was recently purchased by the City of Henning as part of the Highway 108 project. A coal chute was located in the fight of way of the road and will be filled in by the city prior to next summers road project.
