Event to be held at Henning Community Center

Otter Tail County Commissioners will be hosting a community event at the Henning Community Center on March 13 at 7 p.m. This will not be a board of commissioners meeting, but rather an opportunity to engage with commissioners and learn about Otter Tail County projects in the Henning area.

Commissioner Robert Lahman, District 4, encouraged residents to stop by the open house.

“We are looking forward to meeting residents and excited to share the County’s ongoing work in the Henning area,” he said.

Staff from the Solid Waste Department will be on hand to preview the new Henning transfer station plans. The success of the Organics Recycling compost projects in the Henning and Parkers Prairie Schools will also be shared. If you are unable to attend but are interested in the Organics Recycling Pilot Program that collects food waste, please contact Cedar Walters at cwalters@co.ottertail.mn.us for information or to join the program.

Kevin Scheidecker, County Assessor, will give a short presentation about 2023 property valuations and answer questions about the board of appeal and equalization meetings in April.

Visit www.ottertailcountymn.us/appeals-information/ for local meeting dates, times and locations.

Chuck Grotte, County Engineer, will share with community members the upcoming transportation projects in the Henning area. A new OTC511 app is available for residents and visitors to view detours and ongoing construction and maintenance work on area roads.

Amy Baldwin, Community Development Director, will be available to discuss local opportunities related to housing, child care, and workforce development.
