Fifth ranked Hornets improve to 13-1 overall

Kale Misegades scored 24 points in a pair of Park Region Conference games last week. He added 14 rebounds in the two games.

Henning improved to 13-1 overall and 7-0 in the Park Region Conference last week with a pair of wins. The Hornets outscored Pillager and Bertha-Hewitt by a 170-75 margin as they continue to be in the thick of their conference schedule.

Lane Dilly scored 11 points in Thursday’s Park Region Conference win over Bertha-Hewitt.

This week the Hornets, who are ranked fifth in the state and 11th in the QRF, will travel to Menahga on Tuesday and host Pillager on Friday in a pair of conference match ups. 

On Monday the Hornets will travel to Long Prairie-Grey Eagle in a non-conference game. 


Henning shot over 50 percent from the field and hit eight 3-pointers as they came away with a 81-36 win over the Pillager Huskies on Tuesday night.

“Great all around team win at Pillager tonight. Our guys came ready to play. We brought good energy on the defensive end and shared the ball well offensively,” said head coach Randy Misegades. “Our JV team also picked up a nice win.”

The Hornets took a 49-16 lead at halftime and never looked back as they had 21 assists on 32 made shots from the field. They also had 7 offensive rebounds and 14 steals as Henning’s defense continues to set up the offense for easy baskets on the other end of the court.

  Mason Hammer led the team offensively with 22 points and 5 rebounds. Fellow senior Tyson Misegades had a solid night from the floor as he went 7-12 shooting to finish with 19 points and led the team with 7 assists.

Kale Misegades went 8-12 from the floor to finish with 16 points to go along with 7 assists and 6 rebounds.

Lane Dilly also reached double figures with 10 points and a team high 7 rebounds.

Henning picked up another convincing conference win as they defeated Bertha-Hewitt by a score of 89-39 on Thursday night. Henning jumped out to a 54-23 lead at halftime, while getting some of their reserves some extended action in the second half.

“Another convincing PRC win tonight. We jumped out to a big lead early and increased that margin throughout the game,” said head coach Randy Misegades. “We shared the ball very well and got a lot of bench guys some extended minutes.”

As a team the Hornets shot 57 percent from the field and went 11-28 from behind the 3-point line. They had 26 assists on 36 made shots and pulled down 35 rebounds. 

In all, 10 Hornets reached the scoring column on Thursday night as they were led by Mason Hammer with 17 points. Tyson Misegades and Carter Dilly chipped in with 16 points apiece, while Lane Dilly scored 11 points. Kale Misegades scored 8 points and pulled down a team high 8 rebounds.
