Thanks to the efforts of a number of people around the community, a total of 189 strings of broken Christmas lights were collected during the holiday season. Norah Froslee, of the American Heritage Girls Troop 397 in Henning, led this service project as part of learning to be a good steward of the world. The lights will be taken to the Otter Tail County Recycling Center in Fergus Falls for proper disposal. If holiday lights, or even old extension cords, are not separated from regular waste they will wrap around machinery and cause delays and extra expenses in the county waste management.
