Vehicles, goats lost in pole shed fire

Three weekend traffic accidents were reported by sheriff deputies on Monday, Dec. 12.

At least one person was injured Dec. 9 in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 80 near Perham. The accident took place at 12:37 p.m.

Another person was injured in a one-vehicle rollover on Interstate 94 in southwestern Otter Tail County on Dec. 10. This accident took place at 6:33 a.m. The State Highway Patrol assisted sheriff deputies at the scene of the accident.

Two people were injured in a traffic accident on Dec. 10 at the intersection of Long Lake Road and 430th Avenue, near the town of Ottertail. The accident took place at 11:40 p.m.

Vehicles, goats lost in pole shed fire

Goats, vehicles and other items were destroyed in a shed fire at Rostad Loop near West Lost Lake, north of Underwood. 

The owners of the shed were not at home and the fire was called in to authorities by a passerby. The time of the call-in was 11:39 a.m. on Dec. 11.

The pole shed contained motorcycles, a Bobcat, RV, vehicle, 4-wheeler, deer stand, lumber, goats and tools. The estimated loss of the building and contents was close to $200,000.

Underwood Fire Department members responded to the scene of the fire.
