The City of Henning tax levy will be increased by over 12 percent next year.
During an abbreviated special city council meeting recently, the Henning City Council approved a 12.3 percent increase in its tax levy for 2023. The levy was similar to the preliminary tax levy that was approved in September and will increase the tax levy from 214,839 in 2022 to $241,162.01 in 2023. In addition to the levy, the city will receive $319,997 in Local Government Aid and $105,234 in other revenues.
The 2023 total revenue budget will be set at $666,393.01, which is up from $634,445 in 2022.
