Andrew Lynch was just 15-years-old when he started to feel the call to become a pastor. Since that time he has followed his heart and a pull to the ministry as he became a pastor in both California and now in the heart of Otter Tail County.

“I just love being able to point people to Jesus,” said Lynch of what he enjoys about being a pastor.

Lynch was recently named as the new pastor of Water’s Edge Church in Henning. He had previously served as an associate pastor in Clovis, Calif., a town of over 120,000 people near Fresno, Calif., when he received a call to visit the small town of Henning in west central Minnesota.

The Lynch family came to visit both the Water’s Edge Church and Henning area in September and quickly fell in love with the community. They came back permanently in October and became immersed in their new community. Shortly after arriving in Henning the family made the trek to Fargo, N.D., to attend the Section 6A football championship game for Otter Tail Central and traveled to Fergus Falls the next night to watch the Henning volleyball team in their own Section 6A championship game.

After being in the community for just over a month, Lynch said the family really enjoys the community aspect of Henning. For example, when something exciting happens at the school the entire community rallies around those involved. He is also looking forward to the future of Water’s Edge Church.

When he isn’t working as a pastor, Lynch said his family remains busy with their two boys and their various activities. The Lynch family includes Andrew, as well as his wife Jenny and their two sons, Elijah who is a sixth grader and Samuel who is a fifth grader at Henning School.
