Fire destroys shop southwest of Perham

Sheriff deputies, on Nov. 25, reported the theft of several firearms from a cabin at Leaf River Road, north of Henning. The value of the firearms stolen was estimated at $2,800.

The cabin owner estimates that the theft took place between 6 p.m. on Nov. 11 and 12:30 p.m. on Nov. 25.

Driver injured near Pelican Rapids

One person was injured Nov. 26 at 6:16 p.m. at the intersection of Highways 21 and 108, west of Pelican Rapids. This was a two-vehicle collision.

Receiving non-life-threatening injuries was 88-year-old Paul David Stenholm of Pelican Rapids.

Sheriff deputies, working in conjunction with the Minnesota State Highway Patrol, said a 2009 Toyota Prius was northbound on Highway 21 when it collided with a 2015 Chrysler 200 which was traveling eastbound on Minnesota Highway 108.

Fire destroys shop

Sheriff deputies, on Dec. 1, reported that fire destroyed a shop southwest of Perham. Firefighters were called to the scene shortly after 11 a.m.

A passing motorist saw flames coming through the roof. Authorities were immediately called. When firefighters arrived, flames were also coming through the eves.

Sadly, four yellow lab dogs died in the fire. The fire is believed to have been caused by a wood stove malfunction.

Responding to the scene of the fire were firefighters from Perham, Dent and the town of Ottertail.
