Vandalism reported in eastern Otter Tail County

Fire destroyed a rural Parkers Prairie home early Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 1. The location was east of town in Effington Township.

“There were no reports of injuries,” said a sheriff deputy.

Responding to the scene of the fire starting at 12.24 p.m. were firefighters from Parkers Prairie, Leaf Valley, Henning and Miltona. 

The fire was still under investigation as of Wednesday, Nov. 2.

Firearm stolen near Vergas

Sheriff deputies, on Oct. 23, reported the theft of a Sears bolt-action .22 firearm from a residence at Wymer Lake Road, northeast of Vergas.

The firearm had been stored in the garage. There were no immediate suspects.

Vandalism reported

A resident of 520th Avenue in eastern Otter Tail County reported two windows broken at his garage. Sheriff deputies were called on Oct. 23.

Vandals used a BB gun since two silver BBs were located in the garage. The single-pane windows were valued at $25 each. There were no immediate suspects.

Deputies believe the vandalism took place during the overnight hours.
