State meet set for Saturday at St. Olaf

Freshman Nora Froslee, who is the daughter of Mick and Elizabeth Froslee, has advanced to the state cross country meet after finishing in ninth place at the section meet on Friday afternoon. Froslee finished with a time of 20:33.20 to lead the charge for the Bulldogs as they took fifth place as a team. 

The state cross country meet is set for Saturday at St. Olaf College in Northfield. The day will start with the Class AAA meet, while the Class A meet will get underway at 12 p.m. when the girls take to the course. The boys meet will follow at 1 p.m. The day will come to a close with the Class AA meet beginning at 2:30 p.m. with the girls meet, while the boys meet will begin at 3:30 p.m. 

Senior Erika Heibel was the second girls runner to cross the finish line for the Bulldogs as she took 28th place with a time of 21:56.90. Kyleigh Shebeck took 36th place with a time of 22:04.40, Laney Frost finished in 41st place with a time of 22:43.20, Delia Tebrugge took 42nd place with a time of 22:44.50, Emily Christensen took 74th place with a time of 24:41.10 and Allyson Goodman took 84th place with a time of 25:44.10.

OTC took fifth place as a team with 143 points. Staples-Motley won the meet with 46 points, while Wadena-Deer Creek took second place with 83 points. 

On the boys side, freshman Peter Newark just missed out on advancing to the state meet as he took 11th place with a time of 17:24. He was closely followed by senior Joseph Froslee, who took 20th place with a time of 18:12.20. Talyn Setterholm took 25th place with a time of 18:24, Aidan Heggem took 35th place with a time of 18:56.10, Jonas Hagemeister took 48th place with a time of 19:23.90, August Wicklund took 68th place with a time of 19:58.60 and Josiah Mansker took 76th place with a time of 20:13.40.

Staples-Motley won the boys meet with 56 points, while Bertha-Hewitt finished in second place with 62 points. OTC took fifth place with 139 points.
