A pair of freshmen lead the way for OTC

Nora Froslee took fourth place and Peter Newark finished in fifth place at the Park Region Conference cross country meet on Tuesday. 

A freshman, Froslee took fourth place with a time of 20:44.56 as she helped the Bulldogs finish in third as a team at the conference meet. The Bulldogs finished with 87 total points to trail just Wadena-Deer Creek with 29 and Menahga with 65 in the standings. New York Mills took fourth place with 99 points, Pillager was fifth with 105 points, Brandon-Evansville was sixth with 145 points and Pine River-Backus was seventh with 180 points. 

In addition to Froslee, Erika Heibel took 10th place with a time of 21:47.74, Kyleigh Shebeck finished in 20th place with a time of 22:43.55, Emily Christensen finished in 28th place with a time of 24:13.36 and Allyson Goodman finished in 34th place with a time of 25:09.62.

On the boys side, Newark led the way as the freshman took fifth place with a time of 17:35.68, while Talyn Setterholm took 10th place with a time of 18:27.93, Joseph Froslee took 12th place with a time of 18:45.15, Aidan Heggem took 15th place with a time of 18:54.02, Jonas Hagemeister took 19th place with a time of 19:00.18 and August Wicklund took 26th place with a time of 20:12.11.

As a team the Bulldogs finished in third place with a score of 59. Bertha-Hewitt took first place with a score of 36, while Wadena-Deer Creek finished in second place with a score of 52. Brandon-Evansville was in fourth place with a score of 123, Parkers Prairie was fifth with a score of 130, Pine River-Backus was sixth with a score of 144 and Pillager was in seventh place with a score of 158. 

Also competing for the Bulldogs was seventh grader Josiah Mansker who took first place in the middle school race with a time of 12:33.59. Jack Robinson took sixth place in the race with a time of 14:19.96, Matt Brandborg took eighth place with a time of 14:34.80 and Logan Jenson also finished in the top 10 as the eighth grader took 10th place with a time of 14:37.91. 

In the JV race, Emil Herling took second place with a time of 20:25.72, while Nathan Russ took third place with a time of 20:38.40. Quinn Condiff took fifth place with a time of 21:07.22 and Jack Jossart finished in sixth place with a time of 21:16.52. 

In the girls middle school race, Delia Tebrugge took third place with a time of 14:25.52, Tegan Brandon took eighth place with a time of 15:33.8. 

In the JV race, Laney Frost finished in second place with a time of 22:55.46. 

The varsity teams had a total of six all-conference runners. On the boys side Peter Newark, Talyn Setterholm, Joseph Froslee, and Aidan Heggem. The girls had Norah Froslee and Erika Heibel take home all-conference honors.
