After having a number of open positions for most of the first part of the year, the Henning City Council has went on a hiring spree of late.
During a special city council meeting on Thursday, the Henning City Council approved the hiring of Tom Lee as a new maintenance employee. Lee has been employed by the City of Pillager for the past 1 ½ years. He was also employed by the City of Clarissa for 16 ½ years where he worked with water/sewer and natural gas.
Lee is expected to start with the City of Henning in the middle of August.
After all four utility employees, as well as the city clerk/treasurer quit their positions earlier this year, the City of Henning has been busy filling the vacant positions. In addition to Lee, the city hired a new utility supervisor in Ted Strand, as well as a former maintenance worker who has rejoined the staff in Tim Angell.
The city also hired a new city clerk/treasurer in Jenna Kovarik ,who will be starting with the City of Henning this week.
