The Henning City Council has approved the hiring of a new city clerk/treasurer.

After a previous candidate turned down the position a few weeks ago, the City of Henning opened up the position for a new round of candidates. After interviewing six people for the position the Henning City Council has tabbed Jenna Kovarik as its new city clerk/treasurer.

Kovarik currently serves as a customer service associate for United Health Care. She has also served as a customer service representative for Talen Bridge, as well as served as a bookkeeper for Sasker Manufacturing.

She will start her new position in the City of Henning on July 27 at a rate of $27 an hour for 60 days and a $1 per hour raise after her probationary period.
