The summer reading program kicked off at the Landmark Center on Wednesday with Stephanie Jorgenson presenting her new book about Dally the Dog. The summer reading program will continue each Wednesday through July with a new guest reader presenting a story on the Landmark Center front lawn. 

Our Summer Reading Series continues this Wednesday, July 13 at 7 p.m., with guest reader Lisa Dreyer reading from “When Grandma gives you a Lemon Tree.” Free activities and a small treat will follow. New readers will be featured each Wednesday in July.

The Art of the Lakes Studio Tour 2022 takes place this weekend, July 15-17. Landmark will be one of 20 studio locations showcasing 49 artists, with 5 artists showing at the Landmark Center.

Artists at the Landmark Center include: Becky Albright GYOTAKU fish rubbings, Marit Salveson leather journals and ceramics, Mary Smith basket weaving, Paul Sparks hand-carved fish decoys and Elyse Olson tapestries. Please stop at the Landmark Center to talk with the artists and pick up a tour brochure showing the other 19 studio locations, this Friday through Sunday.

Also this weekend if the annual fly-in pancake breakfast at the Henning airport from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Several art workshops are scheduled for this summer including Ruth Hanson oil pastel painting on July 26, Mary Williams two-day Ceramic Sculpture workshop on Aug. 2 and Aug. 30 and Ellen Jean Diederich two-day watercolor workshop from Aug. 10-11. Please call for details or to reserve a spot on one of these workshops, space is limited. 

Mark your calendars for National Night Out on Aug. 2 at  the fairgrounds and turkey BBQ on Aug. 19 at the fairgrounds. 

The Landmark Center will host annual corn and brat feed on Friday, Aug. 26 from 5-7 p.m. Join us for fresh sweet corn, grilled brats, live music, silent auction items and root beer floats. 

Additional workshops include a five-day ceramics workshop with Mimi Seykora in September and a few collaborative workshops with Sons of Norway including wood chip carving, rosemaling and Mmarquetry wood inlay.
