The Landmark Center Summer Reading Series kicks off at 7 p.m. this Wednesday, July 6, with Author Stephanie Jorgenson reading from her “Dally the Distracted Cattle Dog” series. This week will feature “Dally and the Lost Calf.” Join us from 7-8 p.m. for book reading, followed with a craft and snacks. Our reading series continues each Wednesday in July, with guest readers including Lisa Dreyer, Melissa Sparks, and one more book from Stephanie, July 13, 20, and 27.

Join Otter Tail County Historical Society Director Chris Schuelke for a walking tour of Historic downtown Henning this Thursday, July 7, at 7 p.m. Admission is $8 per person, gather in front of the Landmark Center. People Movers will be available for those who have difficulty walking.

The Viking Library Bookmobile visits Henning every other Tuesday from 3:30-4:45 p.m. in front of the Landmark Station building. Next visits are scheduled for July 19 and Aug. 2. Order books and videos and have them delivered to Henning. Our reading group “Beverage and a Book” will meet on Aug. 2 from 2-4 p.m. to discuss “Lovely Bones.” Copies of this book are available at the Landmark Center for those wishing to join the discussion. 

The Art of the Lakes Studio Tour is scheduled for July 15-17 with 20 studio locations and 49 participating artists. The Landmark Center will be one of the studio locations with five featured artists. Hours for tour weekend will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. Stop at the Landmark Center to pick up a tour brochure, and a schedule of other Landmark Center activities. 

Arts workshops include Ruth Hanson Oil Pastel, Juy 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mary Williams will host a 2-day Ceramic Human Figure Sculpture workshop on Aug. 2 and Aug. 30. Please call 548-5760 for details, space is limited. Artist Ellen Jean Diederich will host a 2-day Watercolor painting workshop Aug. 10-11. Registration fee is $165 plus supplies, call to RSVP. 

Mark your calendars for the Annual Corn and Brat Feed at the Landmark Center from  Aug. 26 from 5-7 p.m. with fresh corn, grilled brats, live music, silent auction items, and root beer floats.
