OTC 15u sweeps two with Rothsay

0Bulldogs defeat Pine River-Backus in a pair of games
Rowan Finseth was brilliant on the hill on Wednesday, as Finseth threw a no-hitter to lead the Otter Tail Central 15u team past Rothsay 5-0.
OTC fired up the offense in the first inning, when Finseth drew a walk, scoring one run.
Finseth earned the victory on the mound as he allowed zero hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out eight.
Garrett Kuhn-Rice and Quenton Beske each collected one hit to lead OTC.
In the second game, Collin Lukken drove in four on two hits to lead OTC past Rothsay 13-. Lukken drove in runs on a triple in the second and a home run in the third.
In the first inning, OTC got their offense started when an error scored two runs.
The Bulldogs put up five runs in the third inning off a walk by Parker Samuelson, a single by Bradon Grabe, a home run by Lukken, and a double by Garrett Kuhn-Rice.
Quenton Beske earned the win for OTC as he lasted three innings, allowing one hit and one run while striking out six. Ryan Despard threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Lukken had an inside-the-park home run in the third inning.
OTC 15U collected nine hits on the day. Conner Thompson, Lukken, and Grabe each managed multiple hits.
Thursday
OTC beat PRBA Blue 7-3 on Thursday.
The Bulldogs got things started in the second inning when Collin Lukken doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs.
Kaleb Hammes took the win for OTC as he allowed four hits and two runs over four innings, striking out four. Drew Evavold threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen. Evavold recorded the last nine outs to earn the save for the Bulldogs.
OTC tallied nine hits on the day. Hammes, Lukken, and Ryan Despard each managed multiple hits for the Bulldogs.
In the second game, even though OTC gave up four runs in the first inning, they still defeated PRBA Blue 16-5 on Thursday. PRBA Blue’s big inning was driven by singles by Sam Hanson and Ben Bye and a triple by Riley Perleberg.
OTC got things started in the first inning when they scored one run on a stolen base.
In the bottom of the first inning, PRBA Blue tied things up at 4-4.
OTC pulled away for good with three runs in the second inning. In the second Ryan Despard singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run and Rowan Finseth grounded out, scoring two runs.
The Bulldogs put up six runs in the third inning. Quenton Beske, Finseth, Breidyn Solberg, Colton Schjerve, Garrett Kuhn-Rice, and Eric Fick all drove in runs in the frame.
Kuhn-Rice took the win for OTC as he went four innings, allowing five runs on seven hits and striking out three.
Breidyn Roisum, Despard, Kaleb Hammes, Beske, Drew Evavold, and Finseth each collected one hit to lead OTC.
