Employees at Mid-Central Equipment showed up for work like usual on Tuesday morning, but their assignments were anything but ordinary.

Following a storm on Monday night that left much of the region without power, Nathan Thalmann and many of the employees at MCE grabbed some chainsaws, a skid steer and some heavy equipment and went out on the town. The employees lent a hand to Henning residents who had storm damage from the night before and were in need of assistance in removing debris like large trees.

“We didn’t have power here so we just went out and did it,” said Thalmann. “We couldn’t answer the phone so we just had someone here to help people out.”

Thalmann said the employees at MCE drove around town on Tuesday and helped residents cut up everything from trees that were down to clean up brush.

“It needed to get done and we tried to get to the bad ones,” said Thalmann.
