Several down trees, damage to buildings and power outages were reported as part of a large storm that rolled through the area on Thursday night. Wind guests were reportedly in excess of 90 mph in Verndale and straight line winds caused quite a bit of damage in the region. Some local schools were canceled on Friday due to power outages and damage in the area. In Deer Creek, several large pine trees were toppled over at the Deer Creek baseball field. Some of the trees even fell through the left field fence causing quite a bit of damage to the baseball field.
