Sheriff deputies, on April 22, reported that a resident west of Fergus Falls became a scam victim and lost $700.

Cash card numbers were given to a scammer who said he represented Amazon. The victim contacted his bank to make certain the scammer had no personal information regarding banking accounts for the rural Fergus Falls resident.

County residents are reminded to never send money to a suspicious person who says he or she represents Amazon and that the payments will guarantee a certain transaction.
