Henning High School senior Emma Severson was one of several local students who were honored at the Region 6A AAA Award luncheon on Feb. 2. Severson was selected as the Subsection 22 female AAA Award winner. She is the daughter of Eric and Amy Severson of Henning. The awards luncheon was held at Thumper Pond in Ottertail. Sub-Section winners were awarded MSHSL medals by the activities directors of their school. The award recognizes and honors high school seniors who have excelled in the classroom, on the athletic field and in a fine arts activity.

Severson was asked to answer the question of what has your involvement in MSHSL activities meant to you? Severson’s answer was “My involvement in MSHSL activities has meant so much to me. MSHSL has taught me to keep my academics first and to perform well in my athletics and arts. Involvement in various activities has given me leadership opportunities in the classroom, on the athletic court,  and on the performing stage. I am thankful for the support of my parents, the teachers and coaches at HHS as well as the overwhelming community support that have shaped me into the person I am today.” Right: Severson is pictured with Henning School Principal Thomas Williams and activities director Randy Misegades.
