The county board of commissioners, on Jan. 25, renewed its agreement with the Otter Tail Lakes Country Association.

Under the agreement Lakes Country, a non-profit organization, promotes Otter Tail County as a premiere destination to vacation, visit, live and work.

Otter Tail County, in turn, provides on-site workspace, internet access, technological support and office-related functions.

County Deputy Administrator Nick Leonard and his staff work on common goals in coordination with the Lakes Country Board of Directors.

“Promoting this area of west central Minnesota, and its resources, helps generate new visitors and residents,” said Leonard. “Thereby creating a positive economic impact for Otter Tail County.”

Otter Tail Lakes Country Association has promoted Otter Tail County and west central Minnesota since 1976.

“Today the association is stronger than ever,” Leonard said. “Membership is comprised of a wide range of businesses, organizations and communities.”

The annual Otter Tail Lakes Country magazine highlights communities throughout Otter Tail County and the many things the county has to offer Not the least of these are more than 1,000 lakes within the county and many recreational opportunities.

“Yes, we in county government are proud to work with Lakes Country in promoting Otter Tail County as a great place to live and work,” Leonard added.
