“Quiet Magic” written by Sam Cook is our featured book this week in the library.

The inside jacket cover reads, “The magic is there, right before you, in a hundred little ways. It’s the whisper of line leaving a fishing reel at sunrise in a quiet bay.  It’s the rattling of a sled dog on its stakeout chain outside the tent on a snowy night.  It’s the first pungent scent of smoke from the fire.

“The magic is waiting for you. Go. Let the wind harden your face. Feel the soul of the North Country.  Find the quiet magic. Now the Quiet Magic of the North Country is yours in this delightful collection of stories and essays by Sam Cook.

“Step outside and marvel at the grand experience of the North….the power of a building storm on the greatest of the Great Lakes; the glory of Northern Lights in the shimmering night sky; the embracing absolute silence of a snowhouse. Or stay inside with Quiet Magic and savor Sam Cook’s sensitivity and gentle humor. Look forward to discover the North Country; look inward to discover yourself. You hold Quiet Magic in your hands.  let it take you away.”

Come on up to the Henning Library, you just might find a book you can’t wait to read.  We are open on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 3:30-5:30 p.m. following the school calendar.
